Jess has more than twenty years of experience as a medical technology entrepreneur, currently serving as Chairman of Amplicare, a New York- based Software As A Service firm, focused on the Medicare population and associated services.  

Previously, he was Chairman of Parelio Systems and led a sale of the company to Arthrex in 2017.  

Jess pioneered pharmacy automation by co-founding Parata Systems, the leader in pharmacy automation, in 2001.  Parata serves clients such as CVS, Walmart and Walgreens, and Jess was CEO from inception until 2010.  He then served on the board until its sale in 2018.  

Prior to Parata, Jess was Executive VP of Baker Automation Prescription Systems, which was acquired by McKesson in 1998, and President of MyDailyHealth, which was acquired by ProAct Technologies in 2000.  

Jess began his professional career with American Hospital Supply, which later merged with Baxter International and for ten years, moved through various ranks throughout that company’s surgical divisions.  

Jess enjoys many passions, including mentoring young entrepreneurs, saltwater sporting activities, adventure travel, reading, yoga, golf and time with his family.   

Doug has been a Managing Partner with TempusDurham since its founding in 2010.  Prior to this, Doug was one of four original founding members of Parata Systems, a pharma robotics company which was sold in 2018 to a subsidiary company of Frazier Healthcare Partners, a private equity buyout firm with over $2.0 billion invested.  

Prior to Parata, Doug was a founding partner of Townsend Frew and Company, an investment banking firm specializing in high-end merger and acquisition advisory services to the health care industry prior to its sale in 2002.  Prior to this, Doug was Director at Montrose Capital, a southeastern-based merchant banking organization that specialized in investor-lead acquisition transactions.

Doug is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and also holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from the Babcock School at Wake Forest University.  

Doug is married with three kids and splits his time between Durham and Beaufort, NC.  He used to be a 2.0 indexed golfer, prior to his golf game departing for parts unknown to this day.
